Let’s take a look at the simple steps to secure Facebook account and prevent it from hackers.
Create a strong Password
Choose a very strong password which should be difficult to guess for others and easier for you. Always choose password with combination of small characters + capital characters + special characters
I know doing this could be a bit tedious but make it a habit for your lifetime. I would suggest you to create some logic while creating password such as I like wrestling and eagerly waiting for Wrestle Maniac Event 2013. So my idea to set up a password would be Wrestle_Maniac@2013. This includes all the strong password criteria yet easy to remember as well.
Enable Facebook Integrated Security
Very few users are aware of Facebook integrated security settings. At the top right corner there is a small circle, click on it. Go to Accounts Settings
Another security thing you can enable is Recognized Devices. Enabling this let you use Facebook from your computer only. If you want to access it from another machine it sends you verification code on your cell phone. so no other than your machine can do your FB log in, any such attempt will send you an verification code.
Log Out once you finished surfing
Always log out your Facebook account when you finished using Facebook. This will protect you from hacking method called as session hijacking.
Be Cautious with applications
When you are installing Facebook applications, you have been always asking to allow access to your personal details. In case you have a fascination of playing games on Facebook, just make sure you are logged in from different account. So create a different account for playing games and installing other applications so that you don’t give away your personal details.
